The Academician Valentin Afanasyevich Koptyug Prize is awarded annually for the best joint scientific work, discovery or invention, a series of joint scientific works on a single topic, carried out within the framework of the directions agreed upon by the agreement on cooperation between the NAS of Belarus and the Siberian Branch of the RAS. Joint works may be submitted for the award completed or published during the three years preceding the year of the award. When presenting works, the leading authors are nominated in a team of no more than 10 people. At the same time, each country must be represented by at least two scientists.

The right to nominate candidates for the award is granted to: academicians and corresponding members working at the NAS of Belarus or the SB RAS; academic councils of scientific institutions of the NAS of Belarus and the SB RAS; problematic scientific councils of the NAS of Belarus and joint scientific councils of the SB RAS, academic councils of higher educational institutions; scientific and technical councils of state committees, ministries, departments of the Republic of Belarus; technical councils of industrial enterprises, design bureaus of Siberian regions.

Organizations or individuals who have submitted a work for the award submit the following documents:
• a motivated presentation, including a scientific description of the work, information on cooperation between the NAS of Belarus and the Siberian Branch of the RAS in its implementation, justification of the work’s importance for the development of science and the national economy;
• the original of the published scientific work (series of works), materials of a scientific discovery or invention – in triplicate;
• information about the authors – Curriculum-vitae – for each.

The requirements for the submitted works are set out in the Regulations on the Academician Valentin A. Koptyug Award, awarded by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Siberian Branch of the RAS, approved by Resolution No. 38 of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus of July 23, 2019 and Resolution No. 229 of the Presidium of the Siberian Branch of the RAS of June 27, 2019.
