On September 11, 2015 Rezekne (Latvia) hosted inauguration of Days of Belarusian Culture dedicated to 525th anniversary of birth of Francisk Skaryna, Belarusian first printer

On September 11, 2015 the Days of Belarusian Culture dedicated to the 525th anniversary of birth of the Belarusian first printer Francisk Skaryna were opened in Latvia. The event was organized by the Union of Belarusians of Latvia headed by Valentsina Piskunova. The inauguration took place in Rezekne (Latvia). The Days of Belarusian Culture inauguration ceremony involved Mayor of Rezekne Alexaander Bartoshevich, General Consul of the Republic of Belarus in Daugavpils Vladimir Klimov, Chairman of the Union of Belarusians of Latvia Valentsina Piskunova, member of the Board, Union of Belarusians of Latvia, Chairman of the Belarusian Assiciation “Pramen” (Riga), Member of Advisory Committee for National Minorities, Ministry of Culture of Latvia Alena Lazareva, as well Chairman of R?zekne Belarusian Association “Suzorye” Lyudmila Stets. The inauguration ceremony also involved Vice-Director of the Centre for Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature and Alexander Lukashanets and Deputy Director of the National Library of Belarus Alexander Susha who brought a collection of books dedicated to the life and activities of the first Belarusian printer.
