As Vice-Chairman of the NASB Presidium Sergei Kilin said before the meeting, Belarusian researchers would be discussing the possibility of participation in new projects at the Large Hadron Collider. According to him, Belarusian science works in a range of areas: high energy physics, solid state physics, including elements of microelectronics and microtechnology.
JINR Director, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Viktor Matveev noted that the collaboration between the institute and Belarusian scientists had always developed dynamically. For instance, in cooperation with CERN a unique set was constructed where the Higgs boson was discovered.
