On December 14, 2016 awarding ceremony the participants of city festival of research and design works for primary school students "Knowledge and Creativity 2016" took place at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The event was attended by more than 200 young researchers. The festival is held by the Minsk City Institute of Education Development together with the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Its purpose is to create conditions for identification, support and development intellectual and creative potential of I stage students of general secondary education. Festival participants were students of 2nd – 4th grade of general secondary education establishments in Minsk. They submitted to the jury research works and projects (individual or group), recommended by the educational institution.

Festival nominations in 2016:
- Cultural heritage of the native land.
- Extraordinary in the ordinary.
- Profession and hobby.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Chief Scientific Secretary of the NASB Presidium, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Aleksandr Kilchevskiy, leadership of the Council of Young Scientists of the NAS of Belarus.
