Dear women!
Dear colleagues!
On behalf of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and myself I congratulate you on the wonderful spring holiday – Women's Day!
This amazing holiday could not be at another time. All the brightest, all the best we associate with the awakening of a new life, new strength and new hope. This day is another occasion to think about the high role of women in our society. We, the men, remember your invaluable contribution to the development of our country and domestic science. Without women, our Academy of Sciences wouldn't be what it today is. After all, there are to over 47% women in the Academy of Sciences of Belarus. There are research groups where women are in the majority. And these organizations show an example of how even in our difficult times it is possible to successfully cope with the tasks set. No wonder they say, sometimes women's hunch is more accurate than men's confidence, including in the search for innovative solutions. Let me paraphrase the Iron Lady Margaret Thatcher: "Any woman who understands the problems of running a home will be nearer to understanding the problems of running a country" - well in our case, the scope of science.
The year 2017 has been declared the Year of Science in our country. We hope that female employees of the NAS of Belarus with their ideas and tireless work will achieve new significant results for the benefit of the domestic economy.
I wish you to be happy with your relatives and colleagues who will give you an incentive for creativity and development. Let luck and joy of discovery accompany you, and good mood never leaves you.
I wish you to love and to be loved! Be healthy, happy, well-being and let your soul stay young, dear women!
Vladimir Gusakov,
the Chairman of the NASB Presidium, Academician
