With the aim of forming a holistic positive image of science, enhance its authority, attracting the attention of general public to the achievements of Belarusian scientists, presenting up-to-date information on developments being carried out for the socio-economic development of the country, stimulating the creative and professional activity of both journalists and non-professional science communicators the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus has announced a competition in 2017, dedicated to the Year of Science, with the awarding of diplomas and cash prizes to individuals.

The contest will be held in four nominations: the best publication, the best story (program) on radio and television, the best publication in the popular science publishing, the best presentation of achievements of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus on the Internet. Three prizes are awarded for each nomination. Nominations for the competition is carried out in the manner and within the terms established by the Regulation on the competition for the best presentation of scientific achievements in the media.
