On 24 November 2017, a solemn opening and a plenary session of the Third Belarusian Christmas Readings, devoted to issues of moral values and the future of mankind, took part at the Belarusian National Technical University. Aleksandr Kovalenya, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Humanitarian Sciences and Arts, participated in the event. He presented the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus there and read a welcoming speech from Vladimir Gusakov, Chairman of the NASB Presidium. In his welcoming speech, Vladimir Gusakov emphasized that the forum had already become a good tradition and expression of a sincere desire to improve the spiritual and cultural development of the Belarusian society.

The forum was organized by the Belarusian Orthodox Church with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus, and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
