NASB representatives take part in opening of exhibition "Spiridon Sobol, Belarusian Printer"

On 10 April 2018, a temporary exhibition "Spiridon Sobol, Belarusian Printer" opened at the State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature. This is the project prepared jointly with the Y. Kolas Central Scientific Library of the NAS of Belarus, the Museum of History of Mogilev, the National Library of Belarus, and the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus. The exhibition presents rare editions of the 17th century, including the lifetime edition of Spiridon Sobol "Limanar", printed in Kiev in 1628, etc.

Ivan V. Saverchenko, Director of the Yanka Kupala Institute of Literature of the NAS of Belarus, delivered his welcoming speech at the opening ceremony and emphasized the need to popularize Spiridon Sobol publications by digitizing them. Polina D. Skurko, Researcher of the Department of Rare Books and Manuscripts of the Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library of the NAS of Belarus, told about interesting publications stored in the library and the work of the department on digitizing old printed publications such as "Leksikon Slavenorosskiy" (they are presented on the temporary exhibition).

The exhibition will continue until April 27.
