On 19-20 April 2018, the Institute of Radiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will hold an international scientific and practical conference "Chernobyl and Science: Experience in Overcoming the Consequences." Specialists engaged in radioecology, radiobiology, agroecology, radiochemistry, prevention and elimination of technogenic emergencies, psychology and sociology will come to Gomel from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and France.

The forum will discuss the results of scientific research on urgent problems of minimizing consequences of the Chernobyl disaster, rehabilitation of contaminated areas, protection of the population and territories from anthropogenic emergencies. The issues to be considered at the conference are as follows: radioecological and radiobiological aspects of the Chernobyl disaster: experience of overcoming the consequences; ensuring safety for the environment and a human while constructing and operating nuclear power plants; problems of preventing and eliminating emergencies in radioactive contamination areas; social and psychological consequences and information support of the Chernobyl disaster and other radiation accidents.
