On 15 October 2018, at 2:00 p.m., the Department of Physical Engineering Sciences of the NAS of Belarus will hold an International Workshop “Modeling of Synthesis and Destruction of Advanced Materials”. The Workshop venue is a Conference Hall of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (room 216). English is the working language of the Workshop.

The Workshop is scheduled to consider the modeling of diffusion, phase transformations, phase and structure formation, interaction of dislocation and other defects in the process of synthesis, operation and destruction of materials, as well as other relevant issues of computer modeling in materials science.

It focuses on physical and physicochemical models describing the kinetics and mechanisms of phase and structure formation in the process of synthesis, operation and destruction of materials, namely the models using the following methods:

first-principles modeling based on density-functional theory (DFT),

molecular dynamics simulation (MD),

macrokinetic modeling (phenomenological models),

multilevel modeling (multiphysics modeling),

thermodynamic modeling,

and others.
