On 6 December 2018, at 10:00 a.m., an International Scientific Conference “The Historical Destinies of the Belarusian Soviet Statehood (Towards the 100th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Socialist Soviet Republic of Belarus)” will open at the NAS of Belarus. Leading historians, representatives of ministries and departments, scientific organizations, higher educational institutions of our country and foreign guests will take part in the conference.

On December 6 and 7, the forum is scheduled to discuss the following issues:

1. History of the BSSR in the works of domestic and foreign researchers.
2. Political history of the Soviet Belarus.
3. The BSSR: historical experience of social, economic and cultural transformations.
4. Political and state elite of the BSSR, its history and fates.
5. The evolution of relations between the Republic and the Center: BSSR – USSR.
6. The evolution of international legal subjectivity of the BSSR.
7. The territorial aspect of the nation-state building of the BSSR.

In the organizers’ view, such points as introduction to scientific and practical achievements in the study of the history of the revolutionary events of 1917–1925 and the formation of the Belarusian national statehood on the Soviet basis, as well as discussion of debatable issues of the history of Soviet Belarus in 1919–1991 are the important tasks of this representative international forum. It is supposed to improve the interaction between academic and university science on current problems of historical science development.
