The Belarusian delegation participated in a jubilee session of the General Meeting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The first persons of the state, representatives of the world scientific community and the creative intelligentsia, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps and central government bodies attended the solemn meeting. The famous Ukrainian scientist Academician Boris Paton, the worldwide oldest in terms of age and tenure President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, also participated in the event. Boris Paton was born on 27 November 1918, on the day of the foundation of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Vladimir Gusakov, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, addressed the audience with greetings and congratulations.
Members of the Belarusian delegation met with the leadership of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, viewed the Exhibition of Science and Technology Achievements of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and took part in other anniversary events.
