Delegation of Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBITAK) visits NAS of Belarus

On 24-26 March 2019, a delegation of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBITAK) headed by the Vice-President of TÜBITAK with Orkun Hasekioglu visited the NAS of Belarus. The purpose of the visit is to participate in the sixth meeting of the Joint Committee on Scientific and Technical Cooperation between TÜBITAK and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The guests visited the permanent exhibition of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus "Science for production" and a number of scientific organizations of the Academy of Sciences. On 25 March 2019, a Belarusian-Turkish scientific seminar was held with the participation of Belarusian and Turkish scientists.

As the Chairman of the NASB Presidium Vladimir Gusakov noted during the meeting of the Joint Committee on Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBITAK) and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Belarusian and Turkish scientists will develop "Road Map" for cooperation between the NAS of Belarus and TÜBITAK for 2019-2021. In turn, the Vice-President of TÜBITAK Orkun Hasekioglu said that the Turkish side is interested in expanding cooperation in all fields of mutual interest. At the meeting of the Joint Committee, Belarusian and Turkish scientists agreed on common areas of scientific and technical cooperation, which will be included in the "Road map". Among them are unmanned aerial vehicles, graphene and laser technologies, optoelectronics, new biomaterials, including biodegradable ones, as well as joint research in the field of monitoring and control of air pollution in Antarctica. It is planned that in the near future a specific list of joint projects will be agreed to fill in the Road Map project, which is scheduled to be signed during the visit of the State Delegation of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Turkey in April 2019.
