Today the Session of the General Meeting of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus has completed its work. Representatives of academic, university and industry science and young scientists of the Republic of Belarus attended it. Academician Alexander Kilchevsky, Chief Scientific Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, reported on the activities of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in 2018 and tasks for 2019. Academician Sergei Chizhik, First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus, spoke on amendments to the Regulations on elections of members of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

Vladimir Gusakov, Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus, prior to the session start, said that the Academy of Sciences is taking a large part in the processes of innovative development in all spheres of the economy and public life in the country. “Everything we develop is an innovative product of V-VI technological order. We work in the context of global trends in the latest areas of scientific research,” the Chairman of the NASB Presidium noted.

Following the results of the session, the General Meeting adopted a resolution "On the results of scientific, technical and innovative activities of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in 2018 and tasks for 2019" and a resolution "On changing the Regulations on the election of members of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus." Scientists and specialists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus were granted awards.

Besides, as a part of the session, an exhibition "Young Academy is IT country" was held, where young scientists of the NAS of Belarus presented their latest advanced developments.
