Co-organizers of the forum: Yanka Kupala Grodno State University, Alpen-Adria Institute of Slavic Studies (Austria), Institute of Linguistic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of Russian Studies at Warsaw University, Kharkiv Lexicographic Society and other foreign organizations and scientific communities.
The conference will be attended by more than 100 linguists from different countries, including Austria, the Czech Republic, Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Turkey, France, etc.
The conference will discuss the fundamental aspects of lexicography, the development of various types and genres of dictionaries, share experience in implementing innovative lexicographic projects in different countries and consider the practical aspects of lexicographic work in the modern information and communication space. Ukrainian scientists will present a virtual lexicographic laboratory, demonstrate the project of an online dictionary, and reveal the features of creating lexicographic products of this type.
The conference participants will focus on computer and corpus technologies in lexicography, lexicographic prognostics, dictionary projects, terminological and dialectological lexicography, the use of dictionaries and corpora for scientific and educational purposes, methodological problems of terminography and Slavic lexicography, as well as lexicographical description of sociolects, jargons and other communicative versions of languages. Due to the participation representatives of other fields of science, primarily specialises in information technology, the scientific event is qualified as an interdisciplinary one.
As a part of the conference, a round table "Sacred Word and Slavic Lexicographic Practice" and a meeting of the Commission on lexicology and lexicography at the International Committee of Slavists will take place in the Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library of the NAS of Belarus.
