The modernization of the facility will enable Belarus to reach a new level in the research and certification of automated vehicles.

It is worth noting that in 2024, an updated action plan was approved to create a modern testing facility on the existing ground.

A key milestone in the project's implementation was collaboration with Russian Federal State Unitary Enterprise "NAMI," with which the Joint Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus signed an agreement on scientific and technical cooperation in the field of testing highly automated vehicles.

In parallel with infrastructure modernization, active work is underway to develop the regulatory framework.

Construction and installation work at the test site is now fully completed. Specialists are currently conducting commissioning work in the test facility.

Meanwhile, accredited organizations are completing the certification of key facilities: the dynamometer road, the acoustic site, and sections with specified slopes. Commissioning of the facility is scheduled for September 2026.

The modernized testing ground is equipped with advanced equipment, including tire testers, weighing systems, and ballast dummy systems. This will conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections according to the most modern safety standards.

Currently, the Joint Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, together with Belarusian State Institute of Metrology, is conducting a metrological assessment of the equipment.
