The gold medal is awarded to domestic and foreign scientists, government and public figures for:

high achievements in research and development, culminating in the creation and application of new high technologies, equipment, devices, equipment, materials;

especially fruitful activities to strengthen the scientific and technological potential of the country, to increase the effectiveness of scientific research, innovation, education;

The breastplate of distinction named after V.M. Ignatovsky of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus was established in 2018 by the Decree of the Bureau of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus dated March 5, 2018 and it is a form of reward for high achievements in research and development, fruitful activities to strengthen the scientific and technical potential of the country, significant personal contribution to the development and development of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The breastplate is awarded to citizens of the Republic of Belarus who have made a significant personal contribution to the development of science and the implementation of promising scientific and technical projects, strengthening international scientific relations, training highly qualified scientific workers engaged in fruitful activities to strengthen the scientific and technical potential of the country and improve the efficiency of scientific research, innovation, education.
The breastplate can be given to other persons, including foreign citizens cooperating actively with the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, who contributed to its development with its activity, assisting the formation and implementation of scientific and technical projects.

The certificate of honor of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is awarded to scientists, workers and groups of organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, as well as managers and employees of organizations of other departmental subordination:

for a great contribution to the development of natural, technical, agrarian, humanitarian, social sciences and arts;

for particularly fruitful activities to strengthen the scientific and technological potential of the country, to increase the effectiveness of scientific research;

for significant contribution to the organization of scientific research, high achievements in science and innovation;

for the implementation of research results in practical activities and (or) educational process;

for high performance in training highly qualified scientific workers, preservation and development of scientific schools;

for significant contribution to the expansion of international scientific relations and the strengthening of international scientific and technical cooperation;

for many years (at least 10 years) fruitful activity in the system of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

Employees of organizations and organizations of other departmental subordination are presented for awarding a Certificate of Honor for achieving outstanding results in joint research with scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, which are important for science and practice.
