National Academy of Sciences of Belarus announces competition for A. Lykov prize 2020

The prizes named in honour of Alexey Lykov, the prominent scientist and founder of the Belarusian scientific school for heat and mass exchange (20.09.1910 - 28.06.1974) are awarded for research papers making a big contribution into development of theoretical and experimental researches on transfer of energy and substance, discovery and description of laws governing phenomena and processes of heat and mass transfer in natural and technical objects, media with various phase composition in the presence of phase and chemical transformations, different external effects, which are used as the basis for highly-efficient heat and mass exchange technologies and equipment for the national economy.

The prizes (two prizes – one for domestic scientists and one for an international team of authors) are awarded by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus on the eve of A. Vykov’s birthday - on the 20th of September.

The prize for domestic scientists is awarded for individuals or a group of staff (maximum 3) working for scientific and scientific and production organizations, and higher educational establishments of the Republic of Belarus, that make the main contribution into the work presented.

The prize for the international group of authors is awarded for teams of authors from foreign countries and the Republic of Belarus (maximum 3) for contribution into development of A. Lykov’s creative heritage, joint definitive works on heat and mass transfer issues.

The right of work presentation for the Prize is granted to: academicians and corresponding members of the NAS of Belarus; scientific councils (scientific and technical research councils) of scientific organizations and higher educational establishments of the Republic of Belarus and foreign countries.

Organizations and persons proposing candidates for A. Lykov prize should provide the following materials: substantiated presentation which includes scientific characteristics of the work presented and explains its scientific and applied significance; copies of published scientific articles, examples of books; information on authors including the data of their place of employment and showing their personal contribution into the work presented.

Materials in one copy, in a common file with inscription “For A. Lykov prize 2020” shall be presented before May 20, 2020 to State Scientific Institution Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer n.a. A. Lykov of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus to the address: 220072, Minsk, vul P. Brouki, 15, bld. 2, room 329.
