Visit of the JINR delegation headed by Director Grigory Trubnikov

On April 6, 2022, negotiations were held between the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov and the Director of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna) Grigory Trubnikov. The new areas of cooperation, the promising joint projects, as well as an exchange programs for scientists for research were considered.

As Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov stated, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research should expand the scientific cooperation for the benefit of the economies of the two countries. «The scientific cooperation between the Academy of Sciences and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research is long-term. A number of the academic institutions are actively working with the scientists from Dubna. But in our difficult times, this cooperation needs to be expanded. We could move on to the specific applied projects that will make our cooperation even more effective for the benefit of the economies of the two countries», Vladimir Gusakov emphasized. The Head of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus noted that at the present time the interaction between the scientific organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and JINR is carried out mainly in the field of the fundamental research. In order to intensify the mutually beneficial activities, the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus proposed to prepare a Roadmap for the cooperation with a whole range of the specific applied projects, which can be most effective for the joint work of the scientists.

In turn, Director of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research Grigory Trubnikov also expressed confidence that today the scientists of the two countries need to work more closely with each other. In particular, within the framework of the International Nanotechnology Innovation Center, which operates in Dubna. Among the promising directions of the joint research are the development of information technologies, the nuclear research, the radiobiology, the medicine, the bio- and nanotechnologies. Members of the delegation of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna) visited the State Scientific Institution «B.I. Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus», where they got acquainted in detail with the latest developments of the scientists, as well as with the exposition of the permanent exhibition «Achievements of the national science – for the production».
