On April 26, the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov presented diplomas to Belarusian scientists, winners of the 2021 competition for the awards of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Russian Academy of Sciences.
It should be recalled that in the field of natural sciences, the prizes were awarded for a cycle of works «Adsorption materials based on mesoporous phosphates of polyvalent metals: synthesis, structure and application» to a team of the Belarusian and Russian scientists: employees of the I.V. Tananaev Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Institute of Chemistry and Technology of Rare Elements and Mineral raw materials to them – a separate division of the Kola Science Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
In the field of technical sciences for the cycle of works «High-energy methods of controlling the structure and functional properties of shape memory alloys for the development of promising technologies in engineering and medicine» the winners were Belarusian and Russian scientists: employees of the Institute of Technical Acoustics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and St. Petersburg State University.
It was decided to award the Prize of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in the field of the humanities and social sciences for the project «The life and work of academician E.F. Karsky (1860-1931). Scientific heritage in archival documents» to a team of Belarusian and Russian scientists. These are employees of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the St. Petersburg branch of the Archives of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Prizes of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus are awarded every three years for the most significant scientific results obtained during the joint work in the field of natural, technical, humanitarian and social sciences, which are of great scientific and practical importance. Three prizes are awarded – one in each of the indicated areas. Works or a series of joint works performed by a team of scientists from scientific organizations and universities of the Russian Federation and scientific organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus can be submitted to the competition.
