The main issue that was considered on July 28, 2022 at an expanded meeting of the Bureau of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus with the participation of leaders was how the organizations of the Academy of Sciences fulfilled the indicators of the socio-economic development forecast for the first half of this year. As Nadezhda Stepanova, head of the Main Planning and Financial Department of the staff, emphasized in her report, the planned indicators and target indicators have been met in general for the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The numbers are the following. The total amount of work performed by organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in January-June 2022 amounted to 416.5 million rubles, 116.3% of the plan for the reporting period, or 128.4% compared to January-June 2021.

In January-June 2022, commercial and budgetary organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, according to the passports of organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, produced products for export, performed works (services) under contracts with foreign customers for a total of 18,943.2 thousand US dollars, which is 170, 5% to the indicator set for the first half of 2022 by the Plan for the export of goods and services, and 130.2% to the volume of exports for the same period in 2021. In addition, organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus attracted funds under grants totaling more than 120.0 thousand US dollars. The balance of the foreign trade in goods and services of organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus was positive in the amount of +6,925.7 thousand US dollars (for 6 months of 2021, the balance: +3,426.2 thousand US dollars). The organizations of the Department of the Agrarian Sciences and the Department of Physical and Technical Sciences worked best in this area - 75.7% of the total. In general, for the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the average monthly salary for January-June 2022 amounted to 1,584.8 rubles, an increase of 1.2 times compared to the same period last year.

Summing up the results of the first half of the year, Vladimir Gusakov, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, noted that today it is necessary to work as efficiently as possible. The main thing is the uncompromising fulfillment of all indicators. Programs are prioritised. Particular attention will be paid to the development of funds, payments for electricity. The leaders of organizations should do everything to increase the wages of employees, and from different sources. One of the important issues is financial support. Every organization should have a production or production site. Import substitution. Today this problem is more acute than ever. And this is a chance for our scientific organizations. Investment in development, in science, cooperation must be actively continued. We need to build cooperation with all countries.
