October 6 (Thursday), 2022 at 11.00 at the State Scientific Institution «Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus» (Minsk, Surganova 1, building 2, room 302) will host an international scientific conference «Architectural heritage of I. G. Langbard and Modernity», dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of Iosif Grigoryevich Langbard, a famous Belarusian Soviet architect, Honored Art Worker of the Belorussian SSR (1934), Doctor of Architecture.

The organizers of the event are the State Scientific Institution «Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus», the Kondrat Krapiva Institute of Art History, Ethnography and Folklore. The conference will be attended by the researchers of the architectural heritage of Iosif Lagbard from Belarus, Russia, Azerbaijan. The problem field of the conference covers a wide range of the issues related to the biography and architectural heritage of I.G. Langbard, the protection and modernization of the architectural monuments and town-planning ensembles of the twentieth century, the features of the artistic and stylistic picture of architecture of the past century.

Topics proposed for discussion at the conference: Life and creative biography of I.G. Langbard. Architectural heritage of I.G. Langbard. Architectural monuments of the XX century as part of the historical and cultural heritage. Architectural structures and ensembles of the XX century: problems of protection, restoration and modernization.
