On September 1, 2022, a solemn event took place – the Day of Knowledge.

As well as throughout the country, it began with an open lesson «Historical memory – the road to the future», which was conducted by the President of Belarus Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko. The Head of state congratulated students and teachers on the start of the new academic year. «For many of you, this is the year of saying goodbye to school, and someone is taking the first step towards their chosen profession or is on the verge of their career. In any case, a turning point and fateful period is coming in your life, a very important period,» the President said.

At the Academy of Sciences this year the Day of Knowledge was dedicated to the opening of the state educational institution «University of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus». Vasily Gursky, Chief Scientific Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, congratulated on this significant event on behalf of the leadership of the first undergraduates and teachers. Academicians-secretaries of departments of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Heads of scientific organizations, well-known scientists of the country addressed the boys and girls with warm words of wishes.

During the event, undergraduates of the University of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus were presented with a symbolic grade book.

By the Decree of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of July 15, 2022 No. 31, the State Educational Institution «Institute for the Training of Scientific Personnel of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus» was transformed into the State Educational Institution «University of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus» from September 1.

Among those who entered this year, the following specialties were most in demand: «economics», «physics», «biology», «chemistry», «art history», «sociology», «applied mathematics and informatics».
