September 13, 2022 15.00 at the O.V. Roman Institute of Powder Metallurgy, a solemn meeting of the Academic Council of the Institute dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the founding of the O.V. Roman Institute of Powder Metallurgy.

The event will be attended by the Heads of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, representatives of ministries and departments, well-known scientists of the country.

On the basis of the Problem Laboratory of Powder Metallurgy of the BPI, by the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the BSSR No. 272 of September 7, 1972, the Scientific Research Institute of Powder Metallurgy – SRI PM was established.
Today, the Institute is the leading intersectoral research and production center in the Republic of Belarus, operating in key areas for the country's industrial complex, related to the creation of new materials and products with unique (given) performance properties by powder metallurgy, pulsed (explosive) processing, application of protective and functional coatings, special methods of welding, cutting, soldering and surfacing.

The main conceptual task of the Institute is the effective development of applied research on the basis of fundamental science with the maximum output to industrial production. The Institute cooperates with the largest industrial enterprises of the country: MTZ, MAZ, BelAZ, Amkodor, MZKAT, BATE, BAAZ, BMZ, MMZ, Belaruskali, Integral, Khimvolokno, Atlant, Keramin, Mogiletransmash, etc.

The international cooperation of the Institute is effectively developing within the framework of direct contracts with the CIS and far abroad countries, as well as within the framework of scientific and technical agreements with 19 foreign scientific centers.
