On March 16, 2023, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus hosted a working meeting between Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov and Director General of the State Corporation Roscosmos Yuri Borisov with the participation of the State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev.

Opening the meeting, Vladimir Gusakov expressed gratitude to the Russian side for the long-term fruitful Belarusian-Russian cooperation in the space sphere. "I want to say a big thank you to you, Yuri Ivanovich, for supporting the development of the space industry in Belarus, to the entire Russian Federation for many years of cooperation in this field. Thanks to this cooperation, we were able to form the space sphere in Belarus. We remember this and we are very grateful for it. We have developed good cooperation between the organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the organizations of the Russian Federation, of the Roscosmos. A number of programs are running. As a result, the space sphere of Belarus and its entire infrastructure have been created. Within the implementation of these programs, significant progress has been achieved," Vladimir Gusakov stressed.

During the working meeting of Yuri Borisov and Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov with the participation of the State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev, the issues were discussed of implementing a project to create a Russian-Belarusian ultra-high resolution remote sensing spacecraft and a Russian-Belarusian space system based on it, the implementation of current programs and the formation of promising scientific and technical programs of the Union State for space topics, implementation of a joint Russian-Belarusian project on the flight of a Belarusian cosmonaut to the Russian segment of the International Space Station, including a scientific flight program.
"Your girls have been selected, we are ready to accept them and conduct a full cycle of training," Yuri Borisov said.

As the executive director for Manned Space Programs of Roscosmos Sergei Krikalyov said during the meeting, work in this direction is going according to plan. In accordance with the established procedure, in agreement with the Belarusian side, the State Corporation will soon begin the approval of candidates for cosmonauts from Belarus with international partners in the International Space Station.
In addition, a draft scientific program of the Belarusian cosmonaut has been formed, consisting of nine works in various directions.

The parties also discussed the developments of the institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in the space sector.
Director General of Roscosmos Yuri Borisov as a head of the delegation of the State Corporation, paid a working visit to Minsk on March 16, 2023. The head of Roscosmos also visited the production site of OAO Peleng, where he took part in a meeting with the management of the enterprise specializing in the development and production of optoelectronic equipment, including for remote sensing spacecraft, the parties discussed current and promising joint projects in the field of satellite construction.
