On May 17-19, the Institute of History to summarize the results of archaeological research on the territory of Belarus

On May 17–19, 2023, an international scientific and practical conference Results of Archaeological Research in Belarus in 2022 will be held on the basis of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the archaeological complex on the Mienka River (Garadzishcha village) and the Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Lifestyle (Aziarco village). This is a traditional annual scientific event that summarizes the achievements and discoveries of Belarusian archaeologists that were carried out in the last field season.

On May 17, 2023, at 9:30 a.m., a plenary session will be held at the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, where program reports of leading Belarusian and Russian specialists will be presented. At 02:00 p.m., a visiting session will begin in the village of Garadzishcha, where the most important archaeological complex on the Mienka River is located, which is identified by scientists with the annalistic Minsk. Presentations will be made, upcoming research plans for the 2023 field season will be discussed, and an archaeological exhibition of artifacts will be organized. In order to monitor the state of preservation of this unique monument of archeology, its survey will be conducted. It is also planned to visit the archaeological exhibition at the Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Lifestyle in the village of Aziarco, as well as to familiarize with the unique wooden architecture of the first skansen museum in Belarus.
On May 18 and 19, 2023, breakout sessions will be held at the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. 68 scientific reports are planned, which will address the problems of both rescue archaeological works and methods of fixing and interpreting archaeological objects from primeval times to contemporary times, the specifics of conducting rescue archaeological research.
