The cooperation agreement between the Institute of History of the NAS of Belarus and the Talachynski District Executive Committee was signed within the framework of the scientific and practical conference Talachyn Land: Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Region, dedicated to the 590th anniversary of the first mention of the city in written sources.
The document was signed by Vadim Lakiza, Director of the Institute of History, and Oleg Lyndin, Chairman of the Talachynski District Executive Committee. The document provides for the organization of joint scientific research, popularization of scientific knowledge, preparation and publication of joint scientific papers, holding joint scientific and practical conferences, round tables, seminars and other events.
On June 15–16, 2023, on the occasion of the 590th anniversary celebration of the first mention of Talachyn in written sources, the Institute of History of the NAS of Belarus together with the Talachynski District Executive Committee held a scientific and practical conference Talachyn Land: Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Region (to the 590th anniversary of the first mention of Talachyn in written sources). The conference was attended by more than 70 historians, archaeologists, linguists, specialists in study of literature, art historians, archivists, museum and library staff, local historians and schoolchildren from Talachyn, Minsk, Viciebsk, Polack, Orsha, Liozna, Magiliow, Mazyr and Moscow.
As a sign of appreciation for the cooperation, Vadim Lakiza gave the city library unique book editions on history, as well as for the contribution to the historical and cultural heritage preservation, he presented Thanks to the chairman of the Talachynski District Executive Committee Oleg Lyndin, director of the Tolochin Tinned Food Factory, Honored Worker of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus, Honorary Citizen of the Talachynski District Anatoly Anyukhovsky, Director of the Museum of Local Lore Irina Pikulik and Deputy Director of N. P. Lugovskoy Secondary School No. 2 Snezhana Gvozdeva.
