On October 31, 2023, First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus S.A. Chizhik held talks with a delegation of the People's Government of Xi'an headed by Secretary of the Xi'an City Party Committee Fan Hongwei.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the leadership of the Xi'an Department of Science and Technology, China-Belarus High-Tech Aerospace Research and Development Center and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus. On the Belarusian side, representatives of the leadership of the Institute of Physics named after B.I. Stepanov of the NAS of Belarus, the Institute of Mathematics of the NAS of Belarus, the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the NAS of Belarus, the Institute of Physical and Organic Chemistry of the NAS of Belarus, and the Inter-Branch Scientific and Practical Center for Identification Systems and Electronic Business Transactions took part in the negotiations. Members of the delegations got acquainted with the main activities and developments of the organizations of the NAS of Belarus at the permanent exhibition Achievements of National Science for Production. During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas and mechanisms for the development of cooperation, as well as the establishment of a branch of the NAS of Belarus in Xi'an.
