On November 21, 2023, a visiting press event was held at the Centre for Identification Systems and Electronic Business Operations of the NAS of Belarus on the topic From Bar Coding to Food Safety. The press tour of the Belarusian and allied mass media was organized jointly with the National Press Center of the Republic of Belarus. What is the system "Bank of electronic passports of goods – ePass.by."? How is the formation and maintenance of such digital passports of goods carried out in Belarus? How is the legality of the turnover of fur products using radio frequency tags monitored and how was the state information system for the identification, registration, traceability of animals and animal products (GIS AITS) developed? These and other questions of journalists were answered in detail by Director Viktor Dravitsa and other employees of the Centre.
As Viktor Dravitsa, director of the Centre for Identification Systems and Electronic Business Operations, told reporters, thanks to the decision to use a bar code to identify goods, new opportunities have appeared for automating accounting processes in production, warehouses and trade and it gave rise to the automatic identification development. Belarus was the first in the post-Soviet space to introduce a digital system of legality control in the trade of domestic and imported goods.
The Centre for Identification Systems of the NAS of Belarus is the head organization in the Republic of Belarus for scientific and methodological support for the creation and functioning of information resources about goods (products), their automatic identification, as well as electronic document management in commodity distribution networks and electronic commerce processes.
