Event held to protect reports on the results of scientific researches, for which grants were provided from the President of the Republic of Belarus

On March 13, 2024, an event was held at the National Children's Technopark to protect reports on the results of scientific researches (innovative projects), for which grants were provided from the President of the Republic of Belarus in the fields of science, education, health, culture, and youth policy for 2023. Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko, Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov, and top officials of the country took part in its work.

At the presentation exhibition, managers and specialists who were allocated monthly grants in 2023 presented their research results. The exhibition consisted of several thematic blocks in 5 areas (science, education, health, culture, youth policy). Scientific developments in the field of biotechnology, medical and nanotechnology, new materials, unmanned aerial vehicles, and military subjects were presented. In total it is about 50 works, 10 works in the field of science. From the NAS of Belarus, Anna Anisovich, Chief Researcher of the Design and Technology Department of the Institute of Applied Physics, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor; Alexander Isobello, Head of the Department of Special Technologies for Processing Materials by Pressure - Head of the Laboratory of Precision Stamping and Cross-Wedge Rolling of the Physico-Technical Institute, Candidate of Technics and Sergey Sharko, Senior Researcher at the Laboratory of Magnetic Film Physics of the Scientific and Practical Center of the NAS of Belarus for Materials Science, Candidate of Physics and Mathematics.

A meeting of the Republican Commission was held to consider candidates nominated for grants from the President in the fields of science, education, health, culture, and youth policy.

Before the meeting of the Republican Commission, Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko noted that the funds allocated by the President within the framework of grants go to the practical implementation of the recipients' ideas. "Based on the results of today's meeting, we will submit a report to the head of state by April 1. The cycle of preparation for the nomination of relevant projects for grants is open and everyone in their own direction can nominate, protect them and receive financial support for the development and implementation of their ideas," Igor Petrishenko said.

In turn, Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov stressed that all projects of the recipients of the Presidential grant in 2023 showed high efficiency. "The grants are fully justified and have shown their effectiveness. Grants are not so easy to get. It is necessary to prove its effectiveness. For this purpose, the commission also works, which evaluates the project at different stages, after that the project is considered in the Council of Ministers and, in conclusion, the materials are submitted for approval to the President, Vladimir Gusakov explained.
