The NAS of Belarus and Pakistan plan to develop cooperation in priority areas for the countries. Such an agreement was reached on August 19 during negotiations between First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Siargiej Chyzhyk and President of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences Kauser Abdullah Malik.
As Siargiej Chyzhyk noted during the meeting, the NAS of Belarus and Pakistan have long-standing scientific ties, which were maintained in various ways. In May 2015, an Agreement on scientific and technical cooperation was signed between the NAS of Belarus and the Pakistan Academy of Sciences. "It is time to update our Agreement, including the most relevant and priority areas for both countries. And we must intensify our cooperation," Siargiej Chyzhyk stressed.
The President of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences Kauser Abdullah Malik noted that Pakistan is interested in developing cooperation with Belarusian scientists in such areas as artificial intelligence, laser technologies and technologies for agriculture. The goal is to present concrete results of joint activities of scientists from Belarus and Pakistan in the near future.
On August 19, 2024, the leadership of the NAS of Belarus held talks with a delegation of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences headed by the President of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences Kauser Abdullah Malik. Promising areas of cooperation in various scientific events in the territory of the Republic of Belarus and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan were discussed. The guests got acquainted in detail with the latest developments of scientists, which are presented at the permanent exhibition Achievements of National Science for Production.
On August 18–22, 2024, a delegation of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences headed by the President of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences Kauser Abdullah Malik is visiting the NAS of Belarus. The program of the visit includes a visit and acquaintance with the activities of a number of organizations of the NAS of Belarus: NPO Centre Open Joint Stock Company; Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the NAS of Belarus; Research and Production Centre for Multifunctional Unmanned Systems of the NAS of Belarus; Physico-Technical Institute of the NAS of Belarus; Institute of Biophysics and Cell Engineering of the NAS of Belarus; Institute of Experimental Botany named after V.F. Kuprevich of the NAS of Belarus; Institute of Genetics and Cytology of the NAS of Belarus.
