Press conference on the Development of Modern Belarusian Archaeology, dedicated to the Day of the Archaeologist

On August 13, 2024, a press conference was held at the National Press Centre of the Republic of Belarus on the Development of Modern Belarusian Archaeology, dedicated to the Day of the Archaeologist. The event was attended by: Vadzim Lieanidavich Lakiza, Director of the Institute of History of the NAS of Belarus; Aliaksej Awlasovich, Head of the Centre for Archaeology of Belarus and Siargiej Linievich, Researcher at the Institute of History of the NAS of Belarus. Scientists told about the latest most significant finds of Belarusian archaeologists.

Vadzim Lakiza stressed at the press event: "The historians' job is to protect the humanitarian security of the Belarusian society and the state. At the same time, the absolute majority of scientists have no doubts about the depth of the national history of Belarus." Historians of the NAS of Belarus have prepared a five-volume book "The History of Belarusian Statehood". Vadzim Lakiza also said that scientists plan to compile archaeological maps of Minsk and the sites of ancient settlements of Belarus. He also raised the problem of illegal search for archaeological artifacts and their sale on the Internet.
