The round table on Yanka Kupala in Humanitarian Studies

On September 16, 2024, the Yanka Kupala Institute of Literary Studies of the Centre for the Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Researches of the NAS of Belarus held a republican round table on Yanka Kupala in Humanitarian Studies.

The discussion field, predetermined by the multidimensional nature of Yanka Kupala's creative legacy (primarily in the light of it’s modern reinterpretation), became a prerequisite for increased attention to the round table by researchers. The event was attended by museum staff, representatives of archives, publishing houses, university professors, employees of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The following issues were discussed:
• The personality of Yanka Kupala in the modern socio-cultural and information environment;
• Classic's work: European and national context;
• Kupala studies: acquisitions, prospects and new aspects of research;
• Textology. Achievements of academic science, the main directions of development;
• Museum and archival affairs. The role of the literary museum in the study and popularization of the classic's work;
• Yanka Kupala and his entourage: contacts, parallels, controversy, interactions;
• The literary heritage of the classic in linguistic studies;
• The study of Yanka Kupala's works in institutions of secondary and higher education: methodological aspects. The work of the Belarusian classic attracts not only with its sharpness and polemic. The poems, which are ontological in their poetic and philosophical nature, have in many ways not lost their relevance in the 21st century, therefore they are traditionally widely represented in the modern cultural and historical space.
