The delegation of the NAS of Belarus took part in the 5th Forum of Scientists of the CIS Member States in Dushanbe. Vasiĺ Gursky, Chief Scientific Secretary of the NAS of Belarus, and Stanislaw Juretski, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the NAS of Belarus, held a number of meetings with the leadership and researchers of the NAS of Tajikistan, and also took part in a working meeting with Viktar Dzienisienka, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Tajikistan.

On October 23, the first meeting of the Council of Young Scientists under the Council for Cooperation in the Field of Fundamental Science of the CIS Member States took place. Stanislaw Juretski, Chairman of the CYS of the NAS of Belarus, was elected Chairman of the Council. The main purpose of the Council's work is to consolidate the efforts of young scientists in developing the scientific potential of the CIS member states.

The 5th Forum of Scientists of the CIS Member States was held in Dushanbe from October 22 to 25. The Forum was attended by the heads and leading scientists of the academies of sciences and the largest scientific and research centres, educational organizations of the CIS countries.
