The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and Russian Academy of Sciences signed an Agreement on Scientific and Technical Cooperation
On July 17, a delegation of the NAS of Belarus headed by the Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus V. Karanik visited Moscow (Russian Federation), where negotiations were held with the President of Russian Academy of Sciences G. Krasnikov, during which the parties discussed promising areas and mechanisms of cooperation between the organizations of the two academies, in particular, the implementation and coordination of fundamental and applied scientific research and development in the most important areas of development of science and technology, interaction through the International Association of Academies of Sciences, etc. An Agreement on Scientific and Technical Cooperation was also signed between Russian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
Today, a meeting was also held between the Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus V. Karanik and the Chief Scientific Secretary of the NAS of Belarus V. Gursky with the Director General of the SC “Roscosmos” D. Bakanov, during which the parties discussed the following issues: creation of a Russian-Belarusian spacecraft for remote sensing of the Earth with an ultra-high resolution of 0.35 m (RBS) and a space system based on it (RBSS), scientific and technical cooperation between Belarus and Russia in space research and information and space technologies, implementation of programs and projects of the Union State, etc.
The visit of the delegation of the NAS of Belarus to Moscow ended with an attendance to the NRC "Kurchatov Institute" (NRC KI), during which a meeting was held with the President of NRC KI M. Kovalchuk. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation A.N. Rogozhnik. The parties discussed promising areas and mechanisms of interaction between the organizations, issues of the functioning of the Representative Office of the NRC "Kurchatov Institute" in the Republic of Belarus, etc. Belarusian delegation got acquainted with the research infrastructure of the NRC "Kurchatov Institute".
