Vitaly Zalessky took part in the opening of an international scientific conference in Jilin Province
During a working visit to the PRC, Vitaly Zalessky, First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, attended a number of key events aimed at fostering international scientific and technical cooperation with Chinese partners.
The highlight of the second day was participation in the grand opening of the 2026 International Conference dedicated to the integration of science, education, and the real economy.
The event’s high status was underscored by the caliber of its participants: prominent scientists, including two Nobel laureates, gathered at the venue.
The program of the Academy of Sciences delegation’s visit was extremely packed and focused on practical cooperation.
An important milestone was the inauguration of the China-Belarus Joint Laboratory on AI and New Conceptual Materials and Technologies.
Vitaly Zalessky visited a modern automobile plant, where he toured the production facilities, as well as specialized colleges affiliated with Jilin University that focus on mechanical engineering, aircraft manufacturing, and materials science.
During the discussions, the parties addressed a wide range of shared interests, spanning from welding, stamping, and metal processing technologies to the development of innovative polymer and composite materials.
These educational institutions boast a rich history and maintain close cooperation with Chinese enterprises in the aviation and machinery manufacturing sectors.
Despite existing ties between the colleges, BNTU, and the Physical-Technical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the parties agreed to expand their cooperation by making the most of shared interests to implement new joint projects.
