The event will be held as part of preparation of the Third National Report on fulfillment of the Cartagena Protocol on Biodiversity to the Convention on Biological Diversity in the Republic of Belarus. It is co-organized by the Institute of Genetics and Cytology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the National Coordination Centre for Biosafety, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus with participation of the Belarusian Society of Geneticists and Breeders. The workshop will focus on the issues of fulfillment of the Agreement on Eurasian Economic Union in the field of accreditation, the system of biosafety in the Republic of Belarus, monitoring of food products containing GMOs, creation of glyphosate-resistant transgenic plant, etc.
