On September 24, 2015 the representatives of the Republican Centre for Polar Research will meet with wide public and give a lecture “Antarctic: Following the Trail of Polar Expeditions”. The attendees will learn about the importance of polar research for Belarus, get introduced to the history of the conquest of the South Pole and Belarusian scientists’ contribution to the world Antarctic research. The matters of international cooperation and construction of the Belarusian Antarctic station will be touched upon. The participants of the event will be able to see the beauty of the ice continent’s nature, depicted in photos and video materials as well as get insight into the daily life of Belarusian polar researchers. The lecture will also include a question answering section where everyone can learn first-hand information of interest.
