On November 25, 2015 Chairman of Presidium, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Vladimir Gusakov met with the President of the Estonian Academy of Sciences Tarmo Soomere. During the meeting the parties exchanged their proposals regarding further development of cooperation. In particular, President of the Estonian Academy expressed his interest in closer collaboration with Belarusian scientists in the areas of physics, mathematics, materials research, mechanical engineering. As far as Estonian scientists are concerned, they have made considerable progress in microbiology, astronomy, physics, anthropology, culture studies.

From 25th to 28th of November President of the Estonian Academy of Sciences Tarmo Soomere will be visiting the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus upon the invitation of the NASB leaders. The main goal of the visit is to hold negotiations with the leaders of the Belarusian Academy on promotion of Belarusian-Estonian scientific-technical cooperation. The President of the Estonian Academy of Sciences is to visit several research institutions of the NASB, such as the United Institute of Informatics Problems, the Institute of Physical-Organic Chemistry, the Institute of Physics named after B.I.Stepanov, the Institute of Microbiology, the Institute of Chemistry of New Materials.
