The Chairman of NASB Presidium Vladimir Gusakov, appealing to the Academicians, said: “The current year will be determinative in many ways for the Academy of Sciences due to the fact that 12 new state research programs, which should act as a generator of new knowledge and a source of intellectual property in the country, are starting. For this purpose we have created a system of interdisciplinary research centers for advanced research and scientific and technological clusters, their task is to define the points of growth and development for science and technology which have the greatest potential for generation of long-term scientific and technological progress. Scientific collectives and the Academy centers under your leadership should focus on development of solutions for the creation of an integrated system and the close relationship between science, economy and society."
As of December 29, 2015 there were 86 Academicians in the NAS of Belarus.
