NAS of Belarus delegation takes part in celebrations dedicated to 150th anniversary of Romanian Academy

On April 3-6, 2016 at the invitation of the Romanian Academy a delegation of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus headed by the First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences, the Academician Sergei Chizhik is in Bucharest (Romania). The purpose of the visit is to participate in the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the Romanian Academy. During the visit negotiations on perspective directions and mechanisms for increased the Belarusian-Romanian scientific and technological cooperation will be held with the leadership of the Romanian Academy. Meetings with the President of the Romanian Academy, the Academician Ionel Valentin Vlad are planned.

In the celebrations dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Romanian Academy delegations of the leading research centers and academies of sciences of many countries will take part. It is planned that the anniversary event will be attended by the President of Romania Klaus Johannis.

Currently, collaboration of the NAS of Belarus with the Romanian Academy is based on the Agreement on scientific cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Romanian Academy, signed in September 2008. According BRFFR line four joint competitions were held. 29 projects (5 — on Agrarian and Biological Sciences, 11— on Humanitarian Sciences, 2 — on Technical Sciences and 11 — on Physics and Mathematics) were financed. The B.I.Stepanov Institute of Physics of the NAS of Belarus, the Scientific and Practical Materials Research Center of the NAS of Belarus, the Institute for Fruit Growing of the NAS of Belarus, the Institute of Philosophy of the NAS of Belarus, Gomel State University were most active for participation in the competitions. Scientific directions of the competitions: mathematics, mechanics and computer science; physics and astronomy; chemistry; biological and medical sciences; Earth Sciences; information technology and computer systems; fundamentals of engineering sciences; the science of man and society.
