On May 5, 2016 the President of the Republic of Belarus presented state awards to figures of science, culture, health care, public administration, law enforcement bodies. At the ceremony Alexander Lukashenko reiterated that wonderful people protecting the native land and glorifying the young sovereign state by their deeds are the main treasure of Belarus. The Academician-Secretary of the Department of Physics, Mathematics and Informatics of the NAS of Belarus Valentin Orlovich was awarded the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus in Science. The Director of the UE "Geoinformation systems" Sergey Zolotoy was awarded the Medal of Francysk Skaryna.

The head of state wished happy holidays to those present at the ceremony and congratulated them on the awards. The President wished them to be an example to other people and encourage them to make labor and creative achievements.
