A Protocol following the visit of the President of Turkmen Academy of Sciences to National Academy of Sciences of Belarus was signed

On May 10, 2016 the President of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan Meret H. Ashirbayev visited the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. During the visit the talks between the President of the AST and the Chairman of the NASB Presidium Vladimir G. Gusakov were held. The Chairman of the NASB Presidium informed the guest about the priority directions of the activity of the NASB organizations and highlighted the most promising areas for joint research and production activities. The President of the AST Meret Ashirbayev informed the Belarusian side about the priority directions of the activity of the AST organizations and proposed a number of promising areas for collaboration.

During the talks the parties noted the significant potential for expansion of scientific and technical cooperation of the NAS of Belarus and Turkmen Academy of Sciences in order to further develop a number of economy sectors of two countries and outlined cooperation in the following areas: implementation of joint projects on the basis of agreements signed between AST and NASB organizations; ensuring the effective functioning the joint laboratory for the development the production of low-tonnage chemistry of the Institute of Chemistry of New Materials of the NAS of Belarus and the Institute of Chemistry of the AST; the training of highly qualified scientific personnel for the AST on the basis of the NAS of Belarus. As priority directions of joint research and development in the near future the parties have offered: chemistry of new materials and nanotechnology; biotechnology; technology for ecologization natural systems; technology for the agro-industrial sector.

Following the visit, the President of the AST Meret H. Ashirbayev noted the uniqueness of a number of researches held in the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, their great scientific and applied significance, thanked the NASB authorities for the warm hospitality and expressed his wishes to make joint efforts to expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
