On September 26-28, 2016 a delegation of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus under the leadership of the First Vice Chairman of the NASB Presidium Sergei A. Chizhik was on a visit in Paris (France). The visit took place at the invitation of the President of the French Academy of Sciences Bernard Meunier. During the visit the delegation took part in celebrations on the occasion of the 350th anniversary of the French Academy of Sciences and held negotiations on promising areas of cooperation with representatives of foreign Academies of Sciences and InterAcademy International Scientific Associations.

At the opening ceremony which was held in the concert hall of the Louvre Museum representatives of foreign Academies of Sciences were awarded with commemorative medals, they also signed a Manifesto for Science. On the occasion of the anniversary the event was attended by French President François Hollande.

In total, the program of the events was attended by representatives of the Academies of Sciences from 54 countries worldwide.

The NASB delegation held separate talks with a number of representatives of Academies of Sciences on possible directions of mutually beneficial cooperation and mechanisms of its expansion.

During the visit program, members of the NASB delegation got acquainted with reports of representatives of a number of Academies of Sciences on urgent problems of the present at the Conference "Four Crossing Views on Challenges of Future".
