Sergey Chizhik told representatives of mass media about the work of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in the field of nanotechnologies. In particular, he spoke on such developments as graphenes, thermally expanded graphite, electromagnetic barrier shields, use of nanotehnologies in treatment of optical elements and fertilizers for agriculture, creation of energy storage devices of ultra-high capacity, etc. The First Vice Chairman of the NASB Presidium also raised problem issues of development of the nanotechnology industry in Belarus. In particular, he mentioned about the necessity of establishing infrastructure center in the area of nanotechnology developments, as well as of improving legislation in the sphere of regulation of intellectual property rights.
Sergey Azizbekyan elaborated upon the NASB development of Nanoplant. The Head of nanoprojects for agriculture had a brief presentation and described the experience of commercialization of the Nanoplant product in Belarus and abroad.
