On October 4-5, 2016 the International Scientific Conference "Belarusian-Polish Cultural and Linguistic Interrelations: from History to Present Day" organized by the Yakub Kolas Institute of Linguistics of the Center for Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Research of the NAS of Belarus together with the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS) was held at the Yakub Kolas Institute of Linguistics.

The Conference covered a wide range of issues in the field of cross-language Belarusian-Polish cooperation, dialectology and lexicography, ethnic and cultural interrelations, as well as literary relations in different historical periods. The scientific event brought together about fifty scientists from Belarus and Poland, its program was very intense and included work in the format of a plenary session and six thematic sections, a visit to the Museum of Old Belarusian Culture and an excursion to the National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Niasvizh".

It is decided to make the conference regular, and the next joint Belarusian-Polish scientific forum is scheduled to be held at the Institute of Slavic Studies of PAN in two years.
