Meeting with representatives of media at Institute of Genetics and Cytology on November 10, 2017

On 10 November 2017, at 10:00 a.m., the NASB Institute of Genetics and Cytology will host a meeting with representatives of media devoted to issues of genomic biotechnologies for the agro-industrial complex (crop production). The results of scientific and practical activities on the use of modern biotechnologies in plant growing, namely, in creation of new triticale and potato varieties, which are economically important agricultural crops for the Republic of Belarus, will be presented in popular scientific form.

Within the framework of the meeting, two scientists will make their presentations.
Nadezhda I. Dubovets, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Chief Researcher of the Plant Cytogenomics Laboratory of the NASB Institute of Genetics and Cytology, will speak on chromosomal engineering technologies in the selection of triticale as a way to solve the main problems of the culture.
Alexander P. Ermishin, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Head of the Potato Genetics Laboratory of the NASB Institute of Genetics and Cytology, will speak on the diploid selection of potatoes as the technology of the future.
