International Round Table Discussion, dedicated to 95th anniversary of Institute of Belarusian Culture, to start on November 10

On November 10, at 10:00 a.m., an International Round Table Discussion, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the Institute of Belarusian Culture, will start its work in a reading room of the Department of Rare Books and Manuscripts of the Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The purpose of the event is to summarize the Institute of Belarusian Culture development, to understand its significance for the history of the BSSR and the sovereign Republic of Belarus, to discuss problems in studying the history of Belarusian science and prospects for further development.

The Round Table is scheduled to consider the following issues:

  • the Institute of Belarusian Culture, its achievements, significance, and results of activities;
  • figures of the Institute of Belarusian Culture: formation of scientific and creative intelligentsia;
  • traditions of the Institute of Belarusian Culture in the development of literary criticism, linguistics, ethnology, folklore, and cultural studies;
  • the Institute of Belarusian Culture and modern state of the Belarusian science and culture.
  • Within the framework of the Round Table, the exhibition will be opened. It will present the works of different sections of the Institute of Belarusian Culture, the proceedings of local studies congresses, some individual studies of active members and other publications.

    Historians, culturologists, art critics, literary critics, linguists, folklorists, museum experts, and local historians are invited to participate in the Round Table.
