On 6 March 2018, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the National Press center of the Republic of Belarus held a retreat press event on Belarusian-Russian development in the field of radio and optoeletronic and iImplementation of the Union state scientific and technical program "Luch". The event dedicated to the implementation of scientific and technical programs of the Union state was held at the B.I. Stepanov Institute of Physics.

The purpose of the meeting was to inform the public on the eve of the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia on the implementation of the Union State's Luch program, on the interaction of Belarusian and Russian scientists, and on the latest developments of the Institute's scientists.

Nikolai Kazak, Director of the B.I. Stepanov Institute of Physics, Vitaly Plavsky, Deputy Director for Scientific and Innovation Work at the B.I. Stepanov Institute of Physics, Sergei Malyshev, Head of the Laboratory of Radio Photonics at the B.I. Stepanov Institute of Physics, made presentations before the representatives of the republican and allied media. Journalists visited the structural units of the Institute (the laboratory of optical diagnostics, the laboratory of physics and semiconductors technologies and lasers).
