President of Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts visits NAS of Belarus

On 17–20 June 2018, a delegation of the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts (CANU) headed by its President Academician Dragan Vukčević visits Minsk at the invitation of the NASB leadership.

On 18 June 2018, Chairman of the NASB Presidium Vladimir Gusakov held talks with the CANU President Dragan Vukčević at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The parties discussed possible areas and mechanisms for cooperation between the Academies, promising joint projects, exchange programs for scientists and issues of financing of research projects and research visits of foreign specialists. As a result of the negotiations, the Montenegrin and Belarusian parties highlighted the significant potential for strengthening cooperation and agreed that the results of their joint scientific activities should primarily be aimed at obtaining benefits for the economies of the two countries. Thus, the parties identified their cooperation priorities, namely joint research projects in the field of humanities, social and natural sciences, including projects on a contract basis; participation in conferences and other scientific events; exchange of scientific information; organization of special programs for the exchange of scientists and scientific personnel training.

Today, the guests have got acquainted with the exposition of the Museum of History of the NAS of Belarus and the permanent exhibition "Native Science Achievements - to Production." The delegation plans to visit the NASB Institute of Sociology, the Museum of Ancient Belarusian Culture attached to the NASB Center for the Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Research, B.I. Stepanov Institute of Physics, the United Institute of Informatics Problems, and the Geoinformation Systems Unitary Enterprise.
